Welcome to TBandU the Laymans guide to tuberculosis, atypical tuberculosis and
mycobacterial disease.
From my own experience after being misdiagnosed with atypical
tuberculosis see "About me"and With Many Thanks pages
I KNOW that good doctors go astray when they
leave their area of expertise to offer
opinion when they have not studied the literature, selectively ignore information or
when they let their politics, beliefs or prejudices interfere with the objectivity
of their science. Some doctors make mistakes, some are wilful, some are reckless,
some are arrogant.
I was affectively railroaded into oral chemotherapy and was being railroaded into major surgery BEFORE I was actually
diagnosed with any form of tb.
Originally this site was just a couple of pages to
vent my anger and distress. That purpose has now changed.
The object of this site is NOT to berate all doctors and medical
staff. Most medical staff are wonderful and dedicated to their jobs. Some staff however
like the ones I were unfortunate enough to come across were out to make a name for
themselves by diagnosing me with a rare form of tuberculosis.
The purpose now of this site is to enable someone diagnosed with tuberculosis or any form of mycobacterial disease
to be informed with facts about the disease and their various options.
